If you’re a D40x owner and planning to switch to Nikon D3100  , you should read this. First impressions of nikon d3100 from a D40x owner ( and D700) :

  • The D3100 shutter is significantly more quiet (not just the Quiet mode, regular mode). Feels like less vibration as well.
  • The grip and controls are very similar, I probably wouldn’t know the difference if blind-folded.
  • Love the larger LCD and the auto sensor cleaning!
