Interesting comparison between Nikon D3100 and Nikon D300s in terms of video quality. And the author’s conclusions :

1) the D3100 exhibits a visible resolution/compression advantage in 720p movie mode
2) the D3100 LCD screen is lower resolution and more difficult to focus/preview
3) the D3100 includes a 1080 recording mode that the D300s does not have
4) the D3100 is significantly cheaper and lighter so is ideal for remote camera use
